To develop and improve the situation, resources are needed. That is why the main theme of this two-day event is: "Enhancing the Financial Capacity of Local Governments in Temporarily Occupied and Frontline Territories."
We summarize the first day of the two-day event, which took place on May 30 in Kyiv. The training was opened by the first speaker, Yuri Tretyak, who is the head of the Center for Cohesion and Regional Development at the NGO "Institute of Civil Society."
The following pertinent issues were raised:
- How to overcome the challenges of state regional policy during the war and Ukraine's integration into the EU.
- How to reduce economic and social disparities between different regions of the EU, promoting balanced development;
- EU legislation on cohesion policy;
- Institutional support for cohesion policy.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, received advice, and specific actions to address situations. The strong interest in the topic instilled hope that representatives of Ukraine's resilient communities would find ways to improve funding for the restoration and development of their communities.
The event was organized by the Association of Resilient Communities with the support of reliable partners – the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Ukraine – for representatives of resilient communities.
The key is to stay together, support each other, and not lose hope, which is exactly what the community representatives are doing now.
